Philanthropy & Foundations

Dr. Jarecki's commitment to humanitarian causes began in 2002 and has grown into a comprehensive network of initiatives focused on protecting academic freedom, empowering youth, and supporting communities. His philanthropic work operates through multiple foundations and partnerships, with a particular emphasis on rescuing threatened scholars and fostering educational opportunities.

Key Philanthropic Initiatives

Foundations and programs established or supported by Dr. Jarecki around academic freedom, youth empowerment, and community development.

Scholar Rescue Fund (Founded 2002)

Dr. Jarecki co-founded the IIE Scholar Rescue Fund to address the growing crisis of academic persecution worldwide. The program provides fellowships and safe placement at partner universities for scholars facing threats due to their research, beliefs, or identity. Since its inception, the program has:

● Supported more than 1,100 threatened scholars worldwide

● Served scholars from 62 countries

● Partnered with 522 host institutions globally

● Maintained ongoing support networks for displaced academics

Baden-Württemberg Fund for Persecuted Scholars (2016 - 2025)

In cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology of Baden-Württemberg, Dr. Jarecki established this specialized fund that provided fellowships for over 20 threatened scholars  to continue to pursue their academic work in freedom and safety at academic institutions in the state of Baden-Württemberg. This initiative developed the capacity of universities in the state to host threatened academics and strengthened the state’s academic communities while offering safe haven to persecuted scholars.

Falconwood Foundation (Incorporated 1988)

The Falconwood Foundation serves as Dr. Jarecki's main charitable organization, coordinating his various humanitarian initiatives and providing strategic funding for educational and humanitarian causes worldwide.

H. Lavity Stoutt Community College

Dr. Jarecki served on the Board of Governors of H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in Tortola, British Virgin Islands for many years, supporting the institution’s operations and the advancement of higher education in the region.
