About Dr. Henry Jarecki

Dr. Henry G. Jarecki graduated from the University of Heidelberg Medical School in Germany in 1957 and completed his psychiatric training at Yale University School of Medicine, where he later served on the faculty as a Professor of Psychiatry. In 1964, he founded Psychiatric Associates in New Haven, and in collaboration with Dr. Thomas Detre, co-authored Modern Psychiatric Treatment (1971), one of the early textbooks to incorporate psychopharmacology into clinical practice.

In 1970, Dr. Jarecki made a decisive transition from medicine to finance, entering the bullion business. He built The Mocatta Group into a leading global precious metals trading operation, establishing offices in New York, London, and Hong Kong. His work during this period positioned him among the early pioneers of commodity futures investing in the United States. The business was sold to European banking partners in transactions completed in 1986 and 1995.

In 1999, he founded PsychoGenics, a biotechnology company specializing in behavioral testing for pharmaceutical drug development, where he co-developed multiple drugs for psychiatric illnesses. Through Gresham Investment Management LLC, he pioneered asset allocation strategies that managed over $8 billion in commodity investments.
